Dear Margaret,
How are you and the children? I do so miss you. At night, I fall asleep to dreams of you in my arms. Benjamin says hello as usual, and Mr. Smickels misses you as well, I'm certain, but I am glad I brought him with me in any case. Tell Mother Waller that I am happy and well fed.
I have discovered the most amazing specimen, Margaret. I found it in the woods yesterday, crawling along a peculiar flower, and its taxonomy is most vexing. Although it resembles the boll weevil in many ways, we are far out of that beetle's natural habitat, and the boll weevil does not have an extra set of protrusions on its snout. As a matter of fact, these protrusions are so peculiar that I am hesitant in calling it a true weevil at all, and have been noting it's name down simply as "weevyl" in my notes. I hope that some contacts from Brenmark can help me clear up this mystery, although I doubt they will respond very kindly after my last few requests. I do rather get the suspicion that they consider me some sort of fraud, and no amount of evidence is swaying them into believing my last few submissions.
The night grows old, my love, and I must get to bed. I will be going back out tomorrow to mayhaps find another specimen. I love you more than life.
Your husband until the day of Judgment,
