Jonkins Patterns
Jonkins patterns are yet another phenomenon unique to the area of spruce street. It is the common name for the select patterns of stars that occasionally appear red as a result of specific local atmospheric factors. They are named for the astrologer, Philbert Jonkins, who originally began attempts to document and predict them. There are 5 select groupings of stars, any number of which may turn during a specific occurrence of Jonkins Patterns. The groupings change color once at 3:07 am for 2 consecutive nights. There has only been one recorded time when all 5 patterns were active: the nights of December 28 and 29 of 1976. Thus far no regularity (with respect to time) has been found in their occurence.
Live footage of this natural wonder was used in, the largely locally filmed,Prophet of the Stars; a story depicting spruce street and it's struggle with religious persecution.
