I went dancing with a man tonight! Oh, I wonder what my parents would have thought. He was a university student, passing through Qualm's Hollow and doing research on some of the insects here. We drank and danced and talked all night. It's so hard to meet people, feeling fairly alone in this world. Well, maybe not alone, but not quite sure where I belong. Those are thoughts for another day, though. Tonight I got to feel like a normal woman and it was wonderful. He was so fascinating. Apparently the fain wasps that I see every day are a strange anomally. He and his professors are studying them and how to practically apply their special er...characteristics...to medicine and industry and all sorts of other important things. Not only that, but they might actually be dangerous to the citizens here. I find that just plain silly, but he didn't seem too convinced himself, so I'm sure he'll stay here longer and realize what nonsense that is. I dug up some Fain Roses from my garden and repotted them and gave them to him as a gift, telling him how they were bound to attract more of the bugs. He said he might even be coming back, in a few years, with his teacher Professor Anders Lindgren, maybe staying here years! I wonder if he'll remember me.
