Excerpts from Great Authors of Our Time Series, New Yorker Magazine:

Christina Henn

Coming seemingly out of nowhere, her five highly popular short tales in the New Yorker were soon followed by a New York Times best-selling collection of short stories written in her youth. Several were based on strange events at a house known as 27 Maple Rd., which featured prominently even in stories that seemed to have little to do with the house at all. Many have suspected that it is based on a house from the writer's childhood, although her private nature prevents those searching from finding her.

The last known works attributed to her have been parts of a new collection of stories circulating across various literary and occult bulleting boards on the internet. Although the authorship is dubious at best, the style and content is very similar to her previous works, although, it seems, far less whimsical and far more concerned with events within and around a house, now called 27 Spruce St., although it is clear that the house referenced is the same.

These new excerpts have the literary community both excited and concerned, as they are of a far more disturbing and realistic slant, despite the far more fantastical nature of the content. However, no confirmed official contact with the author is known of, and rumors on the internet suggest that she may not be in good health, some ever claiming her death.
