Yarz

One of the few deeds of Eason of Sout that is almost universally seen as a good thing was the establishment of a standard system of measurement. He named the system after his pet neleth who served as the first standard for the length of a yarz (aproximately the distance between a tall man's toes as he strides.)

Lengths are measured as follows: 10 bits=1 shank; 13 shanks = 1 yarz; 1000 yarz = 1 jot; 8 jots = 1 league.

Weights are: 15 ceni = 1 lurch (about the weight of a lump of iron the size of a grown man's fist); 5 lurches = 1 stagger

The measures of volume reveal something of Eason's personal habbits: 2 shots = 1 double; 3 doubles = 1 quaff; 6 quaffs = 1 chug (the standard tankard size); 157 chugs = 1 party

While the establishment of an official system was well recieved, there have been recent efforts from the citizens of Undar to simplify the system.
