The Calendar

The calendar is based on the sixteen animals of the Ancient Zodiac. The sixteen year Animal Cycle begins with the Eel and proceeds as such: Snake, Rabbit, Dog, Giraffe, Pheasant, Manatee, Salmon, Toad, Bluejay, Cat, Mosquitoe, Ape, Bovine, Panda, Grasshopper.

The animals are described by a set of seven Properties (Emancipated, Uncouth, Exiled, Mystical, Perplexed, Angry, Distinguished) and five Descriptors (Very, Barely, Slightly, Somewhat, Highly).

As each year passes, all the cycles move forward one step.

The first year on the calendar was the year of the Somewhat Emancipated Eel.

The current year is the year of the Slightly Exiled Rabbit.

The next year shall be the year of the Somewhat Mystical Dog.

The sixteen months of the year each have 28 days. The year starts each Lirbuary, and proceeds: Cramluary, Femduary, Artch, Adris, Mar, Grune, Drulay, Phalgaust, Sektover, Oktunder, Palsepter, Ermanter, Nantendem, Dertember, Bolimber.
